Heritage Lottery Funding

Why have we received £5,600?

We have received £5,600 from the heritage lottery fund to launch our project ‘Forging a Way to Create a Lasting Legacy’ The idea is to increase awareness of our local heritage in Silverdale and explore how Silverdale would of looked when the local coal mine was active.

What has happened so far?

  • The school council visited St. Luke’s Miners Kitchen and museum.
  • Year 3 have visited Apedale Heritage Centre 
  • The school Council have visited the Staffordshire Archives on Thursday and Jim Worgan ( Chairman of the Friends of Chatterley Whitfield) talked to the whole school on Wednesday 20th April and showed them items that were used down the mines.
